Went to the farm yesterday to do some replanting as Baba Momoh did a bad job; thankfully I didn’t pay him complete.
I couldn’t get enough farm hands, so I went with 2 of my Okada riders, Alaye from Alamutu working in Randa & Biodun, who needed an extra job. Samson & Sunday from Okedi village also joined us. I bought extra cutlasses from Bisiye Omo Owu & Gbagura in Randa, which we sharpened at a welder.
On the way to the farm, I met Johnson Koloko from Delta State, owner of Okadigbo Mining, at the site we pass every day, supervising the breaking & loading of the huge white rock stones.
Johnson said the stone is white quartz used in steel making, tile & ceramic production, & paint. He has a mining license & pays royalties to the Fed Govt. Other minerals around his sites include muscovite, also present on my farm, & feldspar, as well as aquamarine, emerald, sapphire, & tourmaline gemstones.
While some are sitting and complaining about bandits spreading fake news, mining is happening every day and being done by ordinary young Nigerians like Johnson, not Chinese or Oyinbo.
Opportunities abound for mining in every state of Nigeria, especially Ogun State. The breaking if stones is all manual; an opportunity to set up a crusher business to crush & package the stones in Molegede will generate good returns Stop complaining & start working.
The project to replace 8 mattresses, supply 2 beds & replace solar panel batteries at Obete Health care centre Cost Breakdown: 8 x mattresses N35k each, 2 x Iron Beds N30k each and 1 x 100amp drycell battery N130k Total N470k plus transport. Any assistance will be much appreciated. Contact me directly; my Betta9ja NGO will also contribute.
On our way to the farm, we passed Samuel’s Corn Farm, which is being ravaged by monkeys. Apparently there are two species of monkeys here: brown & black. They go in groups & gangs, destroying farms.
Monkey business, according to the locals The Leaders leads the troop into the farms, get the corn, then go up a tree to act as a lookout whilst the rest forage leisurely on the corn. There may be a need to create a monkey sanctuary here to protect the monkeys; otherwise they may poisen, hunt & trap them all.
I was the labourer yesterday carrying the cassava sticks in the sun; luckily it was a little cloudy, giving some respite, but I drank 3 bottles of water plus one Razzl cola. I work tire o. We did 3.5 acres; this farming is no easy o, na backbreaker, but I’m ready to finish the rest today off to the farm Pray for me, lol 😅
Which ministry, Fed or state, deals with monkeys in Ogun State? We need help o de go finish the corn o lol 😆
