Yesterday my school friend took me out as a send-off. We scoured Abeokuta for a place to eat. Monday night is a quiet night in most places for dining.
We settled on Shishi’s Cuisine Restaurant & Lounge in Ibara Housing Estate. The ambience was just right: light music playing, inside and outside space, and a whiff of roasting suya in the air.
For my last meal in Abeokuta before departing, I chose Soft Chiken Suya. I must say it was the best Suya chicken I have had. It is highly recommended. We liked our lips; some even crushed & chewed up the bones. It was that good.
The price was also reasonable. You must try Shi Shi Lounge whenever you are in Abeokuta.
The joke of the night from my schoolmate: a diehard PBAT supporter was buying suya wrapped in newspaper. As the mallam put the suya in the newspaper, they noticed the paper headline had a photo of Tinubu. Mallam asked me to add pepper. The APC Supporter replied, No, add pepper; you don’t see pepper inside already. This got the biggest laugh of the night at my expense as an APC supporter.
Leaving Nigeria today, I woke up with a headache as Trump rumped home to victory. Let’s see whether he will make America great again.
I can’t stand Trump, but I hope he can put an end to the Iraq war, as it has caused so much global inflation. We are watching.
I tried again to go on the Blue metro line but was unsuccessful again as the service is still a limited one. Na wa, I hope it will soon start continuous service. I got there 12:30 and they said the next train is one way to Alagbado at 17:00 how can I take Metro & be stranded in Alagbado.
At the lounge in MMA Term 1, waiting for my flight. See you all soon. Looking forward to coming back.
